NYSAHA Offers NARCE Scholarships To Local Hockey Leaders

New York State Amateur Hockey Association is offering two scholarships to local hockey directors and administrators to attend the 2025 North American Rink Conference & Expo. The event is slated for May 13-16 in Milwaukee, Wis.

The NARCE scholarship program is open to any hockey director, administrator or youth hockey leader working within a USA Hockey registered program in New York and covers the cost of travel, registration, hotel and per diem.

“The New York State Amateur Hockey Association is fully committed to supporting scholarship opportunities for two deserving participants to attend the hockey director program,” said NYSAHA President Eric Guzdek. “This will ensure access to valuable learning experiences for individuals passionate about personal and professional growth for the game of hockey.”

NARCE is considered the premier annual professional development and networking event for the ice rink and ice sport industries and will attract hundreds of professionals for education and networking opportunities.

Over the years the Hockey Director & Youth Hockey Leader course has expanded to include not only hockey directors but also administrators and all youth hockey leaders. The three and a half-day course will provide attendees with tools and strategies to manage a successful hockey season by incorporating long-term athlete development and coach development principles.

Workshops and presentations will give attendees an opportunity to take a more in depth look at relevant programming, best practices and proven strategies to grow and sustain your youth hockey participation.

“Over the years we’ve been looking at how we can provide the tools to enhance the experience for all their users, but more importantly give them the tried and true best practices to put the focus back on those kids or adults that are playing the game and make their experience even better,” said Dan Jablonic, who oversees the course for USA Hockey.

Interested persons need to contact their section president prior to applying. NYSAHA’s  opportunities committee will have final approval on the selection of the two applicants.

The application form will be posted on NYSAHA.com. The deadline for applications is March 16 with recipients notified by April 1.
