Stephanie Murphy
Camillus Youth Hockey Association
During Stephanie Murphy’s three years serving as a board member the Camillus Youth Hockey Association has grown exponentially. She has helped to rejuvenate the girls’ program, where she is the head coach for the 8U and 10U teams.
During her first year on the board, she ran the snack bar. When the outgoing president asked her to consider becoming the next president Murphy took on the role enthusiastically and has been at the helm of the association for two seasons.
She is responsible for updating and publishing the association handbook and policies. She prioritizes clear and open communication with the board, coaches, parents and players. She fosters a collaborative environment where everyone’s voice is heard, and approaches her role with curiosity and kindness, not judgment.
In addition to serving as the association president, Murphy is also a 7th-grade English teacher at Camillus Middle School. Her four children all play hockey with teams ranging from the mini-Mite and Mite blue to Squirt house and Squirt travel levels.
