Guy Hebert Class of 2020

A native of Troy, NY Hebert played youth hockey as a goaltender in the Troy Youth Hockey Association, La Salle Institute, and Hamilton College. Hebert became the first ever Hamilton College hockey player in the school's history to be selected in the NHL draft, being selected by the St. Louis Blues in 1987. He also earned First Team All-American honors during his senior season in 1989and his Hamilton College hockey jersey was the first ever be retired into the rafters of Sage rankly the college in 2003.

Internationally, Hebert was selected to the United States National Team for the 1990 Goodwill Games, winning the silver medal in a shootout against Russia. He played for the United States at the 1994 Men's World Championships in Italy and was the recipient of the USA Hockey Bob JohnsonAward (1994) recognizing excellence in international hockey competition. He played for the team that won the 1996 World Cup of Hockey, and also for the United States at the 1998 Winter Olympics.

As a professional, Hebert won the IHL Championship Cup with the Peoria Rivermen 1990-91 and was inducted into Peoria Rivermen Hall of Fame in 1999. He played for the St. Louis Blues 1991-92, 92-93 and then was the first ever selection by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the 1993 Expansion Draft. In his eight seasons with the Mighty Ducks, he was selected to the 1997 NHL All-Star Game and was top 10 in Vezina voting as NHL's best goaltender 3 times and finished fourth in 1996-97. He ended his career with the New York Rangers in 2001.
